Singapore HR Challenge - SHRI @ 2/08/2009 10:23:00 PM

On my Birthday Morning, I had to set off to work due to a company event as shown above for SHRI.It was a tiring and fun events as we came across some funny presentation from University, Poly and ITE as how they define HR in the future.

The Singapore HR Challenge: An Overview

As HR increasingly shifts to a more strategic role in business, it is an opportune time to launch the Singapore HR Challenge – an initiative by the Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) to engage future leaders, people managers, critical thinkers, and contributors of the new workforce. The Challenge is a platform to showcase innovation and creativity as well as promote progressive HR to students. The theme for the year’s Challenge is Redefining HR of the Future.

2009 Theme: Redefining HR of the Future

We face tough times today. The business environment gets more competitive and complex and the workforce more mobile and diversified. Great HR and business leaders will have the added responsibility to redefine HR of the future even as they take the lead in redefining the organisation for sustainability.

The survey report jointly produced by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA) sought to find out the future challenges in HR and measures taken or to be taken by organisations to tackle them. In all, 4,741 responses from 83 countries were elicited to reveal top eight future challenges in HR.

Teams will be required to conduct a case study on people management practices and suggest alternatives and new ideas to enhance existing practices relating to the theme Redefining HR of the Future.

As the events was coming to the award ceremony, me and my 2 close colleauges managed to snap a pic before we rushed off to do our duties. Kudos to our friendship forver!
